BEFW11S4 AP/Router: WLAN Link LED off, no wireless function |
|
I have a BEFW11S4 WAP and a WPC11 card, along with 2 CAT5-wired nodes, that had worked well for several months. Then the wireless connection stopped working. Every setting I check in both the WAP/Router setup utility and in the PC card setup seem to match. My question is this -- The WLAN link LED on the router is no longer lit (ever) and the documentation suggests that it should light if the wireless function is enabled (which it is in the setup utility) -- does this indicate a problem with the router? I'm trying to determine if the router or the card is the problem.

this is a problem with the 1.42.7 firmware, actually. if you go back to 1.39.2, you'll (hopefully) find the wireless will work again. you can find the firmware by manually ftping to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network and hunt around...

I just thought I'd say rolling back to an older version worked for me. i spent the better part of the day going through endless powercycles and configuring access settings to no avail. use the ftp site and find befw11s4.zip.
