me and my son got hold of a old front engine rail chassis, we were told we need a powerglide shortie, i found a 62 chevy 2 trans. also found a 64 chevelle with a longer tailshaft and has 4 large cast holes around the bellhousing. should i buy both these? are parts interchangable? i am new to this so have lots questions.

Are u sure u want to build that up yourself. Depending on what kind of powersource you´ll use u need to reinforce that tranny considarably. i would look for a used racing tranny.. however those trannys are basically the same u can use either one.
