Cannot boot with 1024MB ram

Hi there

I have really annoying problem with the memory.
With 1024MB installed I got good reading at start-up,
than it starts to load windows but somewhere in the middle it just reboots without a warning. I can boot in safe mode and windows see all the 1024MB.
The memory is the same brand and it works fine separately.

Anyone had a similar experience?

re: Cannot boot with 1024MB ram

I have Problems with 1024MB Ram and Abit KT7A too.

my WIN XP crashes with bluescreen.
When i remove the ram its ok.
i habe testet many ram modules, from cheap too expensive infineon modules. All with same bluescreen from win xp
i think its a error in the kt7a.

Have you tried upgrading the BIOS? It is probably and issue with the BIOS.

re: Cannot boot with 1024MB ram

Have you tried to read the manual ? One of the most important things to keep in mind reading it is that memory modules up to 1gb must be each one of max size 512mb. Maybe will not be your example, but if the bank is of 1gb then you can use it until your cpu keep writing in the first 512mb; after that your ram will be of a new kind ... PRAM ... means Phantom RAM !!!
Phantoms often disappear with the consequence of a computer crash like yours ....
