Back injuries usually take several weeks to get back to almost 100%. Once you hurt it, you develop a "weak link in the chain" and typically that's the same spot that will be injured every single time you hurt your back for the rest of your life.
I hurt mine 2 weeks ago and it still hurts. Not bad, but it's uncomfortable and I can walk again. Before that, the second time I did it, it took over 2 months to feel right again and the first time took about a month to feel better. Make sure you stretch every morning and throughout the day. You can lay in bed on your back and bring one knee to your chest and pull it tight with your arms for about 30 seconds. Then do the other knee and then both at the same time. You can also lift your foot onto a step(or something of similar height), keep your knee locked and your foot pointed out at a 45 degree angle and lean forward until it somewhat hurts in the back of your leg, then hold that for about 30 seconds...do that with each leg several times a day. That's typically for lower back injuries though...I should have asked first if it was lower, mid or upper. ------------------- Union

Have to second what Anonymous said. I was working back about four months ago and I severely strained it. I strained it so badly that I was out for about twelve weeks so it does take some time in order for the back to get back to 100% or at least close to.

When I was a junior in high school, I used to dunk all the time in basketball. One time I came down on it wrong, and oh man, I never dunked for the rest of my year. I couldn't do sit ups in P.E. or jump at all. I couldn't do much of anything.
7 years later... it is still *bleep*ed up. Don't wait around like I did, go get it checked out more thorough. My back still hurts all the time. Sittings, standing, lying down.. But this is about you, not me, so go get that back checked out with some x-rays or whatever the doctor thinks is best. Unless it gets better in a few weeks. I went to a massage therapist and it did help it quite a bit, but only for a couple of days. That was back shortly after I hurt it. ------------------- C2D e6420 @ 3.0ghz 4GB DDR2 @ 936mhz HD4870 512MB | |
