The best time to train for you? |
|
Thread title. I really love to train in the afternoon, usually between 5-7 PM. It's in the evening, it's usually moderately cool in the gym, and it's a nice way to end the way. You guys make think otherwise. When do you guys like to train?

I usually go when around 4-6pm. I've never really been one to go out later than those times for some reason. A couple of times I've gone at about 8 am though, and it seems much better, but usually I'm still waking up.

Only problem with going at 8am is that the gym is always really busy that early. When I used to go to the gym I used to go at around 8pm, but that was way later than I wanted.

I can see the logic of going in the morning, however. I'm definitely not a morning person but you have the most testosterone in your system when you wake up.

Hm, my gym must be weird or something then. It's never packed in the morning for me for the days I've gone. The other day at around 5pm it was full. I had to wait about 20 minutes just to get on a bench.

I usually go between 9-11pm, simply because it's a relaxed atmosphere with no annoying little shits around.
Plus, by the time I've finished working out the pool is deserted and it feels awesome to have the whole pool to yourself with no light outside. ------------------- ![]()

Personally, I like to train at 5:40am, but not many people at my age do. There's still a heap of people in the gym, mainly older folks though. I really like kick-starting my days though, because when I start working out then, either cardio or weights, it really leaves me with heaps of energy for the rest of the day. Otherwise, if I train after school, it's hard trying to find time, I also have to worry about the last time I ate (instead of going before breakfast in the morning) and sometimes I just want to relax at the end of a long day.
The only time I train in the afternoon is if it's a secondary session and I've already done a morning work out. I don't like to have an afternoon workout as my only session. -------------------

I like to get in a few hours after waking - that way my CNS is fully active and going so I have full strength levels.
My lifts are noticeably lower when I go right after waking up, which means less stimulus for growth. ------------------- I'm a survivor. We're a dying breed.

Late at night. There is no sun and everything feels much more calm and cool allowing me to concentrate much easier.

I wish I could get myself up early for a morning workout because when I do, it really perks my whole day up. I feel more energized and then I can just relax when I get home.
