A problem with my left eye |
|
This has been something that has been going on for a long time but now it's starting to feel like it's getting serious.
Yesterday I think I slept like 15+ hours just because my left eye was so tired and it was really bothersome. It seems to tire so much easier than my right eye and often has a much more noticeable bag under it to show the tiredness, often even after a great sleep. Right now it's bothering me again. I have tried a visual test of my own and both eyes seem pretty much equal. I'd blame it on the strain of the computer screen but like I've said, my right eye is fine. I'd like to know if anyone has any idea of what it could be and what is its cause before I take this to a professional. Is there a chance it's dietary? But like I said, it's one eye, so surely not =/ ------------------- Acting is easy, being real is hard ![]()

Could be that less blood is getting to that eye, which means it is oxygen deprived, I had a similar problem. Are there more or less veins showing up in that eye than the other?

It could be genetic also, you could ask around your family to see if anyone else has the same problem? I used to have something similar and first the doctor said it was low magnesium levels, and then he said if it doesn't go away after taking more magnesium its something you will just have to put up with, or try to correct with cosmetic surgery.

Well I know my Mum doesn't have it so I'm pretty much screwed with asking people. I could ask my Grandma to see if she has anything similar but my Grandad is dead and it seems I'm not really on talking terms with my Dads side of the family.
Cosmetic surgery is something I'd definitely be willing to go through if need be. It occured to me earlier that this has been happening to me for as long as I can remember. It was probably at its worst during highschool when my left eye would water really badly and would get all red and puffy. I used to get comments about how bad my eye was looking. I think it's also my left eye that sometimes twitches, it hasn't done it for a few months but when it starts up it becomes very frequent. It's just like a throbbing in the eyelid and apparently not noticeable even when I get people to check it out. The reason I'm noticing it more now is because I was starting to get paranoid that this was my first signs of ageing. I don't want to be 30 with huge shopping bags under my eyes. I was under the assumption it was poor water drainage but then I started thinking it was something worse. quote The Supreme ExtremeI just took a look. At first glance I thought they were the same but there seems to be significantly less veins. The veins don't look as clear and pronounced either and kind of look like they've burst. There's more of a smudged look to them. If that makes the diagnosis any easier. I also used to get serious migraines when I was young. One of them lasted a full week. ------------------- Acting is easy, being real is hard ![]()

I think then your eye not getting enough oxygen might be the problem, bring it up with your doctor.

Will do, thanks.
Is there any fix for it then? ------------------- Acting is easy, being real is hard ![]()

If you are wearing contacts the doctor will either tell you to stop them wearing them or give you ones that give you more oxygen flow.
Otherwise what they did for me was give me drops that helped just keep my eye hydrated and settled, it just masked the problem instead of fixed it but I had a really light case of it and surgery might be needed if it is serious enough.
