re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

LONG TIME AGO:

So I had a dream once that I was running from zombies (too much Resident Evil games), and when they almost caught me, I learned to fly all asudden... oO

KOOL! So I flew..... and then I started falling down... BULL SH*T!! and I tried to fly again, same thing happened, I can fly for alittle but then I come back down....

A WEEK AGO: My friend said he had a dream that he can fly,.. but it was for only alittle bit... and he would fall back down like my dream.... THEN, 2-3 others claimed they had the same kind of thing happening in their dream oO,.. btw, no one knew about each other's flying and falling dream before we talked about it...

Coincidence?

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

I think i get sleep paralysis to an extent sometimes... Like when i dream im fighting someone and i try to hit them but my arms won't move! It's a really frustrating feeling and it gives me a really weird sensation...
I also have lucid dreams sometimes, I knwo i do, but i just can't remember them for my life....
Does anyone get this weird thing where you dream you dream you're playing football or something and you wake up mid kick? It's really weird because my leg just jerks really bad as im waking up and it's weird... It's also annoying when you kick the wall! it bloody hurts that does!

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

Recently I had a dream I believed to be a lucid dream but it turned out to be just a plain old 'warning dream'

I had just been expelled from school. So rather than go home I ran to some random place. I had a knife in my pocket and I decided to cut myself. So I did. Several times (while running). The blade slipped and severed a major artery (or vein, couldn't tell) and I collapsed, dead.

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

I had a dream that I could control once. I only realised it was a dream when I looked at my tee shirt and realised I was wearing a green day hoodie (I don't even like green day) But it was a hell of a lot of fun. I pulled someone's pants down in the middle of the street and kicked some randomers to see what would happen. lol.

And I also had a parlysis dream about a year ago. There were some random 18 year olds in our house and we went out into the garden. But in the bushes there was a lion, and it started to come towards us, all the boys ran inside but I was stuck where I was and couldn't move. And just when the lion was about to pounce on me I woke up. o0o0o0o

quote Angelic Serenity
Same here! I was sitting in the library during one of my lunch periods. (Finished some work early) I just kinda laid my head down on one of the boxed in desks in there. A minute before the bell rang I got short of breath and woke up stunned. I hate that falling feeling...Just when you hit the ground, wham!

I read about lucid dreams being in color. Other dreams tend to be black and white as well as really uninteresting. (Which is why you don't remember them most of the time)

From personal experience, people have anywhere from 5-15 dreams in ONE NIGHT. Powerful mind.
I can't say I've ever had a black and white dream.

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

I'm a little afraid of having a lucid dream. As far as I know, I've never had one. I'm scared of what it said in the first post, about becoming extremely frightened, and actually see someone kneeling on your chest strangling you.

Can't these dreams become extremely harmful? i.e. Cause severe mental issues?

Lucid dreams are great! You shouldn't be scared if you know you're dreaming. As for mental issues, I doubt it.

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

Is it possible to wake yourself up?

(And like I said before, couldn't the whole seeing someone on your chest, strangling you possibly cause some sort of trauma to your psyche?)

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

I always have lucid dreams when I am concerned with homework, it's like I do it in my head literally.
I once had a old hag like dream, but instead of on my chest or choking me, it started jumping on my chest, or it will throw me into dark water and dead body's come after me.

re: Lucid Dreaming - The Art of controlling dreams

I read the "Steps to Become Lucid".

This sounds like a long-term thing to prepare for. Mentally and physically. Keeping a journal, keeping track of your dreams, doing all that stuff. I just want a freakin' lucid dream. Preparation is boring, and too long.

MAKE IT SHORTER!

I never had a long term thing, it's easy to have a lucid dream, just try to have power, you must be the one in the dream, yelling I have the power!!!
