Quake free?

BEST PUN EVA!

okay, it's not. But it said in the back of the Bioshock PCGamer issue, that if I enjoyed the demo, I could grab the rest as a free download. Does anyone have any idea where it is?

re: Quake free?

page 127:

5.)Quake 3
Still just so astonishingly fun to play: frantic, insanely fast and extremely gory. The demo has three maps, Q3DM1, 7 and 17- and the game is free software now so if you're smart you'll get hold of the rest sharpish. Meanwhile, there are enough people playing on the demo to ensure an instant game any time.

And a screenshot caption at the bottom says: If you like Quake 3, grab the rest as a free download.

Unless they are referring to Quake Zero, and I have no idea where to get that, but it's probably still in development.

re: Quake free?

you should maybe check out fileplanet, they have alot of decent stuff on there and if the game is indeed free theyll be sure to have it available for download.

The link to the Quake 3 fileplanet page is here. Only the demo and a patch, sadly. I'm beginning to dislike gaming magazines... thanks anyway.

BUT WAIT! This is on the id Software site...

This year's QuakeCon gave birth to a slew of QUAKE Arena news, including the announcement of a new web-based, free version of QUAKE III Arena, codenamed QUAKE Zero, QUAKE Arena Arcade on XBOX Live, an idTech 5 QUAKE Arena title, and even the possibility of a QUAKE Arena title on the Nintendo DS.
