when i start HL, then the menu comes, the start screen, when i press New game, then i can select : Training, Easy, Medium, Hard. If i select one of them, then i press start, then nothin happens, what to do?

well, I dont have training in the new game menu, I have it on the Main menu... there's New Game, Hazard Course, Configuration, Multiplayer, Previews and Quit (I think..)


yours must be of another version, So i cant really help. but I think its case there's a bug on the HL program, or ur computer might not be able to take the game, not powerful enough... Dunno, but I think its a bug

If the word dosen't light up when your cursor is over it then u can't do that difficulty. Or try reinstalling the whole thing,(for v1.5 it worked 4 me)

Don't use any CD Keys at all which don't come with your game. If it does not come with your game, then you are going to have to contact Valve and see what they can do for you.

well, i can't contact valve b/c im at skool and I have no internet at home.
so that's out of the question

and the reason it didn't come with a code is b/c I found
these 2 "Counter Strike Retail" and "Counter Strike Upgrade"
CD-R's. The upgrade one had a mod installer file on it and the retail one had a main game installer file on it.
So I still need a key

If you are using a pirated version (which you are if using homemade versions you found), there is absolutely nothing that any of us can do for you, except recommend you buy the game itself.
