So if you don't give it a break your PS2 might wear out in 2 to 3 yrs

I'd say a long time. I got my PS2 in Winter 2001 for Christmas, and it's been working as good as the day I've got it since, and the PS2 was played nearly every day, for numerous hours a day. Right now, I've been playing it almost every night for about 2-3 hours, sometimes for another 2-3 hours during the day as well. I also guess it depends on how you take care of it. Possibly try to keep it off the floor, or... yeah. >.< That's all I can really think of.

I remember getting my Playstation for Christmas in 1995 or 1996, I can't remember when. I took care of it, and it still works. Well, I haven't plugged it in and played it in a few months, but over 10 years, it still works. I only have two games for the Playstation, but yeah.

Also I was wondering if the Troubleshooting problems is a
warning that your PS2 might breakdown.

Mine eventually broke down, but that was after 5 years of use, and alot of use that was. I play alot of rpg's so I spent alot of hours on my PS2.

About a good 4-5 years, but now I have the thinner version, and have had it for about 3-4 years now, and have kept it well.

I've had my slimline for about 4 years. And I've had no problems with it. But I've sold it now

i got my original PS2 in october 2001 and by the time xmas 2002 came round it was having alot of disc read errors. i kept having to open it and fiddle to get it to work again. it eventually died in may 2005. i got my slimline just a month later and thats having some problems not but not many. it has problems reading dvd-rws sometimes and can take a bit of time when loading up an area in a game, but other than that its not too bad.

I remember getting mine on my 6 or 7 birthday (4 to 3 years ago) and it works fine, I've only started playing mine like a year ago when I decided to get a good game then the rest is history. FYI my PS2 is working just fine.

I have mine since 2003!
And still running. If you can give it a little maintenance every once in a while it will always work fine.

wow nice to hear that your ps2 lasted that long!

i wanted to play lots of games on the ps2 specially the old ones so i always take care of it so that it will never break down on me
