Disk Read Error? |
|
I got my used PS2 at Gamestop a few years ago. As far as I know, it worked fine when I bought it.
As you might have guessed from the title, it's having trouble reading many of my disks, both PS2 and PSX. The PSX games work fine on the PSX, but the PS2 just refuses to play them. As for the PS2 games, I have to reset the thing five times before the disk will play, and even then some of them still won't work. And before you ask, the disks don't seem to be severely damaged or scratched. What should I do? I don't want to waste my money on buying another PS2, and certainly not a PS3. -------------------

I'm not really the one to ask about this kinda thing, but it sounds to me that your lens is dirty. My local WalMart sells a DVD Lens cleaner made for Gaming Consoles (Xbox and PS2, the box says). It's by Maxwell, if you wanna look for it at a store nearby you.
Otherwise, Neoseeker has a DIY Guide for cleaning the laser, but I've never had to do that, so I wouldn't know. Good luck. ------------------- Don't tell me if I'm dying, cause I don't wanna know. If I can't see the sun maybe I should go.

I'll try that guide first before I buy anything. Thanks, I must have missed that thread. ^___^
