Yeah, it's not an RPG on the PS2 version, it's more of an adventure.

Best Games on PS2 for me are:
*Tekken Tag Tournament (if you can get it to load, if not then Tekken 5) *Tenchu: Wrath Of Heaven *Zone Of The Enders *Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner (better than the 1st IMO, but I'd advise to play in order of release) *Grand Theft Auto III (GTA: San Andreas was OK too, but suffered from "pop up" when flying planes etc) *Shinobido: Way Of The Ninja (don't waste your time with the PSP game though) *Resident Evil: Code Veronica X *Resident Evil 4 (as an action game, NOT a survival horror) *Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly (playable characters move slowly though) *Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4: The Room (I liked it! but admittedly did prefer 2 & 3) *Devil May Cry 1 *Devil May Cry 3 (and DMC3: Special Edition) *Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (if you can get it to load, if not, MGS2: Sons Of Liberty) *Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (if you can get it to load, if not, MGS3: Snake Eater) *Soul Calibur 2 (SC3 is better than 2 IMO, but has corrupt data problems every time for me) *Red Faction (for blowing stuff up/tunneling lol) Final Fantasy X This message was edited by DemonSpirit on Jul 19 2009.

re: Best games on PS2 |
quote DXDI've only played the Demo for Ratchet and Clank, and while I did like what I played, I never got around to playing/completing the full version, So therefore can't include that in my list if I've never played the full version. (IMO anyway) ...As for Gran Turismo, that's an entirely different Kettle of fish lol. I played/completed (not 100%/all concept cars though) Gran Turismo for the PlayStation 1 and thought WOW, yeah, great graphics but couldn't smash up cars even though it claimed to be a Simulator and didn't really want to continue after that but got talked in to GT2. The same happened there, although I will admit I liked the Suzuki (red airoplane wing for a spoiler lol) rally car and...a black one I had, sorry forgot the name lol. Also SERIOUS credit to them for using the "Hot Rod Herman remix of Rob Zombies' Dragula" on the soundtrack of...the American version I believe. However, needless to say, I still wasn't vastly impressed (good memories from that one though...HAS to be the one with Dragula on it though lol). Gran Turismo 3 came around and I REALLY didn't want anything to do with it...BUT because I now had the skills to get through the licence tests, nine guesses who ended up helping people I knew when they got stuck at any point in the game...muggins here, that's who, I also ended up doing kind of tag team endurance races with people (if it was a 60 lap race, we used to take 20 laps each) and some endurance races while people slept lol. As for Gran Turismo 4, I have yet to touch it to this day, so I think I have finally broken the curse...whoo hoo!!! lol! ...in short, in part, because of that game series, I'm not a massive fan of racing games...although I would make an exception if they ever made another Road Rash Game because if someones in/hogging your racing spot, you can just smack/electrocute them off their bike! quote DXDI don't have a PS3 yet (even though I REALLY want MGS4, Tekken 6 and Resident Evil 5, I'm not buying until it's at least somewhere around the £200 mark and have bought a PSP to pass the time lol), but thanks for the info on the Ratchet and Clank series...are there any what are 2-player co-op by any chance? (2-player split screen preferably, but not ABSOLUTELY necessary)

quote DemonSpiritIn Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal, the 2-player split-screen online battle mode was first introduced. It's pretty cool, especially since there are many unlockable skins(costumes) for you to use at your own fancy. quote DemonSpiritYou're welcome. -------------------

re: Best games on PS2 |
quote DXDHey no problem, you helped me with info on a game I may like. However I'm gutted as I THINK I need a disk or something (network disk?) to play online and thought the PS2 servers would have been shut off to games by now (sony seemed to have the "out with the old in with the new" attitude over the past few years) so I didn't really go out of my way to obtain one. Actually yeah, sorry, I failed to state Offline 2-player (I come from the Master System days and have only recently got my own Internet connection, so still used to saying "Multi-player" and everyone assuming a box what you put multiple controlers in...or 2 controllers in the cartridge itself in the case of micro-machines for the Mega-Drive/genisis lol). ...Oh, although I have played some games such as MGS: Portable Ops (PSP) and a little GTA4 (PS3- at someone elses house) online, so I'm not COMPLETELY alien to it. So I guess my question is: are any of the Ratchet and Clank series offline multi-player? ...and I've just noticed I'm getting a little off topic so...erm, Just Cause I also think is a good game! Persona 3, Rogue Galaxy, Star Ocean 3, Tales of the Abyss, Soul Calibur II & III, and even the Kingdom Heart games I guess.

These games actually
+ Beyond Good And Evil, Maximo: Ghosts To Glory, Jak 3, Ratchet: Gladiator/Deadlocked (region dependant for some stupid reason), Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus quote ElementI was about to say that I love you for your amazing taste in RPGs (I mean *bleep* me, Tales Of The Abyss AND Persona 3 = instant win), until I read Star Ocean 3. I've played through it, but saw no appeal to it. It was just a disappointment in my eyes, especially since it was talked about by lots of RPG fanatics, and since it was coming from Square-Enix (who I thought would've improved after Final Fantasy X-2). All I got in the end was a story that didn't really progress much. Has good gameplay and all (can't say it was groundbreaking or impressive, just good), but if an RPG fails with story, it loses a fair amount of credibility IMO. ------------------- quote Keiichi

Star Ocean 3 is fun enough to me, and I understand where you're coming from. The story is terrible, but if you like the Item Creation and gameplay, you can probably stick through it. Personally, story isn't huge for me, but when the game has literally no story, or a terrible story, it's easily pushed aside. It falls to games like Chrono Trigger, having a good story and gameplay. It's not as good as most other classics, but I still played it a lot. It's actually the game I have the most hours in.
It's DEFINETLY not as good as Star Ocean 1 or 2 though, but I enjoyed it. Spent about 150 hours until boredom struck. Persona 3 will keep me busy for awhile. Still have The Answer to beat, and a Hard Mode. Probably my favourite PS2 game, and one of my overall favourites tbh. Good game choices lol.
