Recently, whenever I put a blue disc in, my PS2 makes a scratching sound, and it won't play the disc. The disc is not scratched, but it's never done that before. Anything I can do?

Older PS2 games. They stopped making them a couple years back, the oldest such game I have is from 2004.
Unlike a regular CD or newer game, which is shiny & metallic on the back, blue discs are just that-entirely blue on the back. quoteThat might be why. I've heard that not all blue discs work on all PS2s. Might want to trade yours in for a slim PS2. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

Actually most of the early PS2 games were silver ones, only a few were blue. And LEGO Star Wars (and I've heard their other LEGO games too) came out in spring of 2005 as a blue-backed disk, so it didn't stop in 2004, and they'll likely use it for LEGO Star Wars II.

quote The SkatemonsterWell the Blue disc your refering to is the PS2 CD-ROM some games developers use this disc such as Konami with Gradius 4, Any way when my Slim PS2 laser is dirty I simply use a anti-static hover on the slim PS2 laser and cleans it completly. ------------------- ![]() Bejeweled Penition

if your ps2 is old, then the laser is probably getting weak, u can just replace the laser, or the whole drive. by the way my ps2 has the same problem, does anyone know a webpage from which i can buy a drive?

Strange problem...
(I have a newer ps2.) (I take very good care of it.) If I normally turn my ps2 on you can hear the disc loading, but for some reason the video or audio doesn't come through. But, if I start it with the lid open or no game in at all, then the audio and video comes up and works normally. Then if I try to put a game in or close the lid, everything slows down and the game never loads. Although it does say "Reading disc". If I were to describe it, it's like it doesn't have enough power to play the game and show the video at the same time. I've checked all of the cords as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Disgaea 2 is coming out soon... ------------------- ![]()

My Playstation hasn't been reading any of my games right away and my God of War title has no reaction with it. It says "Reading Disc" at the bottom of the screen and then it goes away. Nothing. Can anyone tell me what the hell is up?
