Bomb da base part 2 |
|
I have the xbox version, but the forum is quite dead.
Anyhow, 8-ball keeps running up the loading ramp of the ship before I can pick off all the enemies with the puny sniper rifle. I try blocking the ramp with a car, but after 8' bumps into the car a few times, he teleports on the other side and ends up dying anyway. I don't want to cheat, so how can I get through this? I did it easier with the pc version, given mouse aiming owns analog stick aiming any day. ------------------- ![]()

Well you can go one of two ways. First way is to grab the adrenaline pill behind some trailers and run to the spot on the stairs you have to snipe from. This should give you plenty of time to take out ALL the Columbians because it slows down time. The second way would be what I will call the "no guts no glory" method. Forget finding your sniping place. The second you have control over Fido, just run up onto the ship and take out the Columbians up close and personal before they can shoot at 8-Ball. If you are half decent with the AK-47, you should have no problem dispatching all of the irate Mo-Fo's on the ship and protecting 8-Ball!
Hope this helps buddy! ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

Thanks man! I tried the run-and-gun approach. Given I won't get used to the xbox controls in a long while, that isn't working out too well. Didn't notice the matrix pill was in that area though, definitely will use that with either method.

Don't have it yet, and I kinda wanta play without using anything else the missions don't offer me directly. Afterwards I can go nuts with exploits.

Raijin are you still haveing trouble with this? If so post what you are having trouble with on the mission specifically. Have you tried the Adrenaline Pill by the trailers near where you climb the ladder?

My comp's maxed out with more crap I DL'ed, so I got back to playing GTAIII. Man, I'm a 'tard. I found the pill, and also the stairs ya mentioned. I hadn't bothered using them before, yet when I moved there, 8-Ball didn't just run after the enemy, but actually waited for me to make the first shot. Glitch?
With the pill, the whole thing was a cinch. No problems at all. Even pulled the 'switch weapon' reload trick to increase the fire rate of the sniper rifle while under the influence of 'the matrix'. Nailed 'em all before 8-Ball climbed the ramp and set foot on the ship. Now i'm exploring, pretty much, a new city. Negates the outdated gameplay effect by much. Its funny that you mention that. I would literally give almost anything to experience GTA all over again for the first time. I still love playing GTA III, even now, but exploring those islands before I knew anything about them was awesome. I also don't think that the gameplay is outdated either. San Andreas may have added a lot of shit to the gameplay, and to a lesser extend so did Vice City, but GTA III is still the first of the old school GTA games, and I have gotten 100% Completion in III more times than I can count, just because, to me, Liberty City is like a second home.
Enjoy the rest of the game my friend, and keep posting if you have any problems, as I would be glad to help. Hey and when you get a chance, just for shits and giggles, take a ride back to Portland when you are not on a mission and go into the Supra Save Parking lot just next door to the docks. There is a Patriot in the parking lot. Get into it when you are not on a mission! Post when you need help with that one! ------------------- ![]() It's official. Sounds fun.
Also, can't complain too much about the control system. It's not gawd awful, just doesn't feel very 'next gen' (that is, when xbox and ps2 were the next gens) to me. (Plus, it's xbox controls Pretty sure i'll get stumped with another mission in GTAIII soon enough. There's always a few in every game. I remember reading a post a while back from ya that mentioned that first street race in GTAIII; how hard that was to beat, and how now after all the experiences on these GTA games, it's easy as *bleep*. Totally true. I pwned that race. I was expecting to have trouble beating Fido and the gang in San An' when I had to do that mission over again recently, no such bad luck. Can't wait to play a GTA online. Speaking of, gotta check out what's up with San Andreas online (PC) component. Can't get enough of the 2005 Mustang mod. Freaking LURVS that ride. ------------------- ![]()
