i might not be the only one who found this out but if you get to the final boss a.k.a Alexia, the magnum completely sucks and using the bow gun with fire arrows seems to do more damage and you lose less health

That would be because the bowgun fires a crapload faster. A lot of people find out they're running low on explosive bolts at that point so end up using the magnum.

If I remember rightly, I personally used the grenade launcher and a crapload of acid rounds. Worked just fine when I could get off a shot without those little tentacle hedgehog bastards giving me a kinky whipping. >_<
I guess since the bowgun is much quicker to fire that's less of a problem.

ive also ran low on explosive bolts the first 2 games but on the third game once you know where everything is and what does the most damage, you could probably round up to appox. 31 Explosive bolts

Good grief, I only fully completed it once then concentrated on battle mode.

i never in fact liked battle mode much i mean i'll play it but at very rare occasions, i think the story mode is much more fun to play

Well, I got all A ranks in Battle mode so I could unlock the Linear Launcher. That's why I had to play it so much.

That and I was trying to take out Alexia with a combat knife...

Certainly is true. You know that corridor with the side door that leads to the room with the fruit machine?

Every character can find items in the fruit machine. Grenade launcher Claire can find Anti-BOW gas grenades, for example. I think I found double machine guns for Chris once, or someting like that.
Wesker finds a fully loaded magnum revolver. You pretty much need one shot to blow up that whole room full of zombies and explosive canisters. One shot is a spare. The other 4 will kill Alexia.

Just for the lulz I tried to stab her to death instead. I got about 5 hits in and then mistimed my retreat. The bitch set my head on fire.

Ironically, despite being able to find anti-BOW gas grenades for Claire, the assault rifle is actually the fastest way to kill the Tyrant boss.

I believe it depends on your timing. If you get to that place fast enough you find the special item instead of the weird diary.

For the first Alexia battle just pump three shots into her straight to end it quickly.
