Let's face it they are so different you can't compare.
Both are driven by vengence. It is the only common ground.
I believe Kain is the calmer of the two, or perhaps just the older of the two. He has begun thinking past his own desires in SR2. Because he is able to think rationally, he is my personal favorite.

I think we can see Kain's evolution from self interest to interest in Nosgoth begin when he drops the Nexus stone. He
takes personal risk for the sake of the world. That's when he gets help from Janus Audrin. Kain is driven by far more than personal vengence at that point.

The question of relative good and evil is forever present. Perspective......
Kain here is the lesser of two possible evils, but he has at least the best of intentions of ruling "fairly" as he sees it.

Talking about comparing, what would a real fight between the 2 would be like?! Aouch that would destroy a lot of furnishing!

Kain is one cool cat, and that hooded outfit he wears in the game, makes him look even cooler.

That's a tough question .I'll have to say Kain's my favorite by just alittle .You don't know as much about Raziel's past as you do Kains so I think Kain is alittle more interesting .

Is Kain dropping the nexus stone really all for Nosgoth though? If he didnt do that, the hylden army would have come through, and that would have just been more problems for him in his quest to regain his throne. I guess it was for Nosgoth, but i dont think it was entirely.

Kain is cooler than the Soul Reaver guy by far. Just the sucking of blood is better than taking souls.And, Kain looks cooler and has some sweet armor like the red cape.
