There should be no shame in bumping awesome suggestions. It'd be great to see this, most social sites and forums utilize something like this so Neoseeker is a bit behind in that regard. I really would like to have something like this myself, just because there's been a few instances where I recieve PMs about something important and the only thing I've got open is my email.

I think this is a great idea, and with the system already in place for sending emails about thread updates it really shouldn't be too hard to implement.

I don't see any downside to implementing this feature. I might suggest though that there is an option to have either no PM emails, "live" PM emails, and daily PM emails. What do I mean by that? "Live" PM emails would email you every time you get a new PM. Daily PM emails would email you each day to summarize each PM you received that day, if you got any. The reason I suggest this option is so that if I got in a PM conversation with someone and went through twenty PMs, I wouldn't receive twenty emails.

I always have email notifications disabled for everything on any forum I post on, so I'm not fussed about this suggestion at all, but I could imagine if people get a deluge of PMs, then the subsequent mass of emails could be annoying.

So, as a linked suggestion, what if there was the ability to tag a PM as important when it is sent, and then you could select an email notification for important PMs only. That way you get the notification if you do need to read the PM asap, but if it's just a bit of a nothing PM then it can wait until you get back on Neo.
