As it stands I know quite a few members who are either Business students or current / soon-to-be entrepreneurs. Given the rising global trend of e-business in recent years I think now, more than ever, would be a great time to implement said forum.

I've had long talks with a few members over PM about business - from helping draft business plans to gathering ideas of how to pursue different ventures - just throwing around general business info at the very least. I'm unsure if it would be hugely popular, but I'm certain it would draw a decent sized crowd and give those of us interested a great community to start building ideas and assisting one another.

Although not a mandatory function of the forum, it'd also be a great means of self-promotion via the community. I know promoting companies and products through Neoseeker forums goes against the forum rules and terms of use, but the idea is more so this: create a thread or common grounds for members to work together in promoting businesses not through Neoseeker, but through each other respectively. A means for people to facilitate pro-bono negotiations and lend support to one another. Business Networking, if you will.

I'm more than willing to expand on the idea if I can at least get some support and input on the matter. I think it'd be a great addition to the collection of Neoseeker forums.

Perhaps the Finances forum could house this topic?

Possibly. Financing really just covers the monetary aspect of things though, and as it stands I don't think it's up to snuff for much else. Business and Finances would probably be manageable, I guess, but there's a lot more ground to cover with personal and corporate business other than the accounting aspects.

If I were to ask for managerial advice on ethical situations or try to get some help with technology licensing in that forum I don't see how that would make much sense.

In all honesty I'd much sooner imagine, realistically, that financing would be a subforum of a broader business spectrum. The only rising concern with that idea is that finances aren't exclusive to business - everyone has personal financing and banking issues, so it becomes unrelated.

Well then, since the finances forum barely gets activity a good old fashioned forum renaming could work.

I would support this idea as well. I have many business prospects occurring, yet never have any direction where to go with the business end of it. Not to mention, it would be fun as hell to discuss that kind of stuff.

I'd find that really useful as well, there's lots that I'd like to learn about selling stuff on ebay.

Also I'll be doing an A level in Business Studies next year so I'd definitely participate in a Business forum.

Had a look at the finance forum and it's pretty dead. I think a merge with a Business forum would bring life back to the financial side of it.

I support wholeheartedly. I'd be regurgitating the sentiments of the other members if I were to elaborate, but I do honestly imagine the forum doing well.

Worthless, though of due principle, I say that this would be a great forum to have. It is general enough to work, and it would be an area of great interest to great deal of members here. I give this complete and unyielding support.

Would love to see a "Finances, Business, and the Economy: Online and Offline" or something similar to expand the base of the current Finance forum a bit.

I completely agree with Mishtram that a "Finances & Business" forum would be awesome. It'd definitely be convenient just to append "& Business" to the end of Finances, feature it as a Loungin' subforum for a month, and let the activity build up.

Would love to see Mishtrams extension of this idea applied. I requested a place to discuss resumes a while back as I found there was currently no location to do so. This forum would make me happy.
