To confess. If the goddess forgives you, the people in town like you more. You can also propose to the goddess here. (1-4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and rainy days)

Brush your horse, but it doesn't fully grow until after 1 full year.

You also need to sell one of each if you are trying to marry the Harvest Goddess.

To raise your horse's affection, you need to brush him everyday. Talk to him everyday. Let him run around outdoors if the weather is nice, and put him indoors when the weather isn't so nice. The higher his affection for you, the easier it is to win the Horse Races starting in year 2. If you don't raise his affection enough, Barley might take him away from you.
