The fastest DDR you can use on the board is PC2100 and you can use up to three gigabytes of it. -------------------

It worked with PC3200 512MB samsung generics underclocked to 2100. Be sure you updated your bios first.

You can pop in PC3200 and it'll work fine, but it will only run at 266mhz fsb. I run two 512 meg sticks of PC3200 for 1 gig. Also this board supports 2 gigs of DDR memory, I read it it runs a bit flakey with over 1.5 gig of DDR memory, don't know if this is true. It will support 3 gigs of SDR memory(PC100/PC133).

quote maroanToo good for it. I suppose the board doesn't support ECC Ram at all. That's according to Kingston's website. (I myself have got 2x512MB and trying to find a new board to fit them into...)

I'm positive that PC3200 will run in the A7A266. It will just clock down to 266mhz and the fastest CAS Latency timings. I still run my A7A266 in one of my backup rigs with the same two Crucial 512meg PC3200 sticks(non ECC) in it. Never had a problem. I'm running BIOS 1013.01 on it. I wouldn't even bother with ECC ram unless you're running a server, that's just my own opinion. If that's the case buy a more up to date motherboard.

I have tried 2 - 1 GB chips (Crucial - said they were compatible)and they will not work together but will work individually. The computer does not read any memory nor boot up with both chips installed. Works fine with one chip. Any suggestions or similar experience?

I have exactly the same problem with this board (rev 1.03). It will boot fine with two 512MB chips, or with a single 1GB chip, but it will not boot with any combination of memory over 1GB total. I was searching for any way to work around the problem when I came across this post so I thought I'd let you know that you're not alone.
