If i were the one, i would choose plasma pistol because you can shoot faster and the plasma depletion rate is slower than that of the plasma rifle.

That's a no-brainer to me. Plasma Pistol, all the way. The charged shots are heat-seekers, and can be used from super-long distance. Yeah, it depletes the gun real fast, but it's better to have that option on your belt, than not. This is great against Jackyls, Sentinals, Grunts, and even hurts Elites. Besides that, they're the most common gun the Covenant carry, so they're plentiful most of the time.

The Plasma Rifle, on the other hand, has the annoying habit of overheating. God, I hate that! Generally, I use them only as a last resort. But, I do think that the single-shots are more powerful than the single-shots of the plasma pistol, so if I'm in a shootout with an Elite, I'll use it instead of the pistol.

But a full shot right in the head with a P Pistol is also pretty cool. But overall, I like the PR better

The PR stuns people when you shoot them so you can circle them firing and when it overheats melee their back. When I shot a Marine with the PP and PR to test their power the PP did more damage with one shot than the PR did. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you keep your aimer on the enemy if you fire of a full-charge shot with the PP it will take a swerve in their direction. them everytime I tried it it worked. Overall I like the PR's stunning factor even though it is very short, so i like the PR.

The Plasma Pistol is more of a tactical weapon. You have to know how to use the damn thing right. On the other hand, the Plsma Rifle is a simple weapon, all you have to do is let it cool off. And then you would understand that a Plasma Rifle/Shotgun or Assault Rifle is an extremely effective combination. The Plasma because of 2 reasons:

Plasma rifle is my fav, it's so similar to the assault rifle and when I'm fighting against lots of covenant it feels like I don't have to fret about ammo at all since I can just pick up a new one later from a dead elite, unlike with the human weapons whose ammo is much rarer.

The pistol is only useful for long distance fighting with a clear shot. the heat seeking power doesn't always find it's mark, and the gun's only usefulness is when you super charge it, but by doing that it runs out of power much faster.

I like plasma pistol you can whipe out an enemies sheild with a charged blast then switch to a human gun and kill them.

if i had to choose, i would say the plasma rifle.......it shoots alot faster.............but then again i usually only use human weapons in halo

the pr is better cuz its really really fast and blasts through eliets shield...it is the best against them(exept for the automatic 1 shot 5 kill weopon the rocket launcher)
and the pp is only good against jackals and grunts but everything is good against grunts

Now that I think of it I like PR better in multiplayer but in campaign I use the PP more often.

Plasma Pistol

I prefer the Plasma Rifle:

I like the way that it is the covenant equivilent to an automatic weapon and the way that it can take down pretty much enemy in a couple of shots.

I'd have to say the Plasma Rifle. I can take down my enemies faster when I charge it up and shoot.

I would prefer the Plasma Pistol because it has the fastest melee in the game. It can hit an enimie from 100 ft. away.
