	quote IGN Cube January 22, 2003 - We all knew it was coming, but now it's official: Samus will star on the silver screen. Today, film industry trade publication Variety is reporting that Zide/Perry Entertainment has obtained the rights to produce the official Metroid movie. Producers Warren Zide and Craig Perry are best known for their work bringing the American Pie and Final Destination flicks to audiences around the world. The duo is now teaming-up once again to bring the beloved Nintendo franchise into theaters everywhere. Samus now joins the ranks of Mario and Pikachu as Nintendo characters transformed into movie stars. No release date has been set at this time as the project is still looking to bring writers and directors on board. Variety also mentions vague story details, which Metroid fans can probably already surmise: Metroids are discovered on SR388, and Samus, an intergalactic bounty hunter extraordinaire, is sent in to investigate. She soon encounters the evil Space Pirates and their plan to harness the power of these parasites and dominate the galaxy. Just imagining such a favorite plot unfolding in film form is enough to keep any Metroid fan happy until the movie is finally released. Pretty sweet eh? 	I sure hope it doesnt turn out to be one of those cheap "B" rated movies. I think they will ruin Samus' reputation and all if they make some cheap movie with awful effects and some goofy story line. They need to find a good actress who looks just like Samus in the image gallery in Metroid Prime. They also need to use the same weapons, suit, creatures, and most importantly, the same storyline. I sure hope they dont screw it up. That would be awful.

	Uh...this is a bad idea for Nintendo. You know how like singers go into the movie business and come out looking bad? well,...yeah,...you see where I am going. Also, not many will see the movie or want to see it. Those who dont know about Metroid wont care. Only us Metroid geeks. Bad idea, bad, bad, bad....

	i doubt it would be limited to the "metroid geeks". i went to see resident evil, and i had never even heard of the game before, and i loved it...sort of...but this movie is definetly gonna be sweet, and sell big!

	It depends on how Nintendo advertises the movie. If they make it look interesting enough for other people besides Metroid fans, they could have some money rolling in. And if they stick with the game's storyline[unlike some video-game based movies of the past ala Final Fantasy], it can attract people besides Metroid and sci-fi fans. 	AWESOME!I KNOW ALL ABOUT METROID BUT NOT A FANATIC.So when does this movie come out?Also is it graphics,animated,or actual people acting kind of movie?And is it going to be about one of the series,all metroid series,or about something that isn't in the videogames?
