re: rings in the water?

Once you get the grappling hook, use it when on the boat. You can then use it to get the treasure that is in those rings! Some of them only appear at night. You can tell when you are in the right spot by looking closely or by listening to the sparkly sound they make. Sometimes you will get little treasures, but other times, they will be large, like pieces of heart or silver rupees (200)! If you get a treasure chart, go to your sea chart and switch to chart mode to open the map. It will show an island and an X. If you go to the X, there will be a very large ring with a pillar of light above it. These disappear from farther away, but if you look at the chart again, it shows where you are in regards to the X. What you need to do is feed the Fishman bait from Beedle's shop ships. He jumps around all the islands. If you go up to him and use bait when you are in targeting range, he will eat it and give you a map of the area and some info or tips. When at the treasure chart screen, try to match up the treasure chart drawing with the areas you have on your Sea Chart to find where these special treasures lie. If that was a little confusing, feel free to continue asking questions. I pretty much outlined the entire treasure finding process, so I can imagine that it's a little hard to swallow all at once. Anyway, hope I helped!

rings in the water?

Well how far are you? You can't get them until you have the bow and arrow.

re: rings in the water?

What you need to do is find a large tornado that sucks you up and spits you elsewhere, not those little whirlwinds that just turn you around. Get close to it and you will see the other frog brother god high up inside the tornado. Hit him with your arrows three times while you are moving around the tornado, but work quickly, or else you will get sucked in. Once you have beaten him, he will give you the power of the tornadoes so you can warp anywhere. Use it to warp to Mother and Child Isles, two squares west of Windfall Island. You will actually warp inside the large, hollow inside of the larger rock, and the Queen of Fairies is there to grant you the fire and ice arrows! Press R while in bow and arrow mode to switch between them. You will need magic power to use them though. To get the Fire Mountain, use an ice arrow on the lava stream coming out of the top. For Ice Ring Isle, hit the mouth of the statue the cold wind is blowing out of with a fire arrow. If you want help finding a big tornado, I think there is one near the Temple of the Gods. If you want more magic, go east of Outset Island a square or two and try to find a large flock of seagulls. This indicates a Big Octo is near. Go to the flock and it should appear. Use your boomerang to target it's eyes and after you beat it, a fairy will come out and double your magic meter!

re: rings in the water?

Basically, the glowing rings indicate that there is buried treasure underneath. When you see one, unequip your sail and cruise up to the spot where you saw it, get your grappling hook out and haul up your loot =)

Lols, I know, but some people are really lazy and couldn't be bothered reading it, so I posted again in an extremely shortened version, so it's easier to read. =)

rings in the water?

That means the Ghost Ship will appear. You will need to get to it later in the game. You will actually need to get a Ghost Ship Chart which shows when and where to find it, so I don't really get why he tells you that. To make you wonder?

re: rings in the water?

The Fire and Ice arrows use up Magic so maybe you didn't have magic at the time?
