i'm told that there is exactly 10 knights crests that you can find before the master sword fight.

anyone have any ideas?

If you manage to collect those 10 Knight crests then you should go to Outset Island. When you get there, go to Orca (the guy who gave you the sword at the beginning of the game)and give him the crests. Then he will teach you a secret sword technique

no, you cant find 10 KC, before the MS, because the darknuts (the enmies who give em ) arent show after the tower of the gods, and adding to that, you are limited on the 1st part of the game to only certain areas (the 1st part of the game ends after than ganandorf beat the crap out of you, but by killing the bird boss), and you cant aceses the places that also gives crests (there are certain islands where there are holes, these holes will send you to an underground arena, in there you can figth moblins, darknuts, etc., but its not always the same.)

you fight a darknut in the tower of gods it protects the bow.

I think he knows that, i think he's saying that you can only get 1 before you get the MS

you got that rigth, thats why i said, that its only possible to get all 10 after the tower, because you can only get one via TOG, and then the other 9 are in the room above where you get the MS.

Dot forget you can only kill them AFTER you pull up the MS, which means, you can't get 10 Knights Crests before you pull up the MS

Yup, you are rigth, but as i said, its only after the MS, that you can get the 10 KC, and i hate HS, its unusefull, the only time i use it, its fro the Pig ghosts figth in the earth temple.
