What is the right time? Why should I try to catch all the updrafts? That just seems detrimental, wasting precious seconds of magic energy time trying to hit those cyclones that don't seem to make you go any faster.

Its not that easy as you vaguely describe it as anyways snow. I think I could win the game from a fresh start with less time and effort then I could win this stupid flight contest. It seems nearly impossible.

Ahhhh, but it is not impossible! just catch at least two updrafts at the correct time( I suggest the 2nd and the last updraft) and cross the finish line!

in other words: JUST KEEP TRYING UNTIL YOU GET IT!

It's true, this is probably the toughest challenge in the game. If you keep trying, you WILL get it. It took me 20+ tries to get it the first time I played, and once I realized that you could get distance without using magic if you jump towards the first little updraft and don't take out the leaf until you're almost at the water, it became much easier.

Don't go too far out of your way to catch an updraft. That'll screw you. You don't need to catch them all. Only one or two. They don't make you go faster, but they give you height, which you need if you don't want to hit the water before your magic runs out.

@Snow, you don't need to catch the last one if you caught the second one fully.

Anyways I tried all this, like 60-70 times (based on gold spent) & hours worth of time.

Maybe if I timed my jump just right so that when I jump I will reach the second updraft without having to move even slightly left or right... maybe that would provide me the seconds I need. But its hard to figure out such timing.(well I can't think of any way to do so)

another possibility is to not wait to use the leaf, but use it right away. If the second updraft is exactly at the right spot when you get there you should be able to only use one updraft for the whole course.(and not have to detour for that first stationary updraft) But then that goes back to timing (I tried this a few times but figuring out the timing is hell)

I don't know if those will work, though they do play GBA games. You'd also need to buy the connector.
