I'm rather impressed. After the E3 trailer this game is all I can think about and after playing the demo I can honestly say I will be buying it when it comes out.
Best thing is that the game runs so amazing on my machine. Anywhere from 30 to 60 FPS, which is more than Quake 4 did. Maybe the next Half-Life? Probably not, but fun all the same. Time to get some more discussions in this forum. ------------------- Windows XP Home 32-bit 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo 3GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB

I found the demo to be quite fun. Loved the weapon designs and how they let you play the game without any jumping around in the games progression like some demo's I've played. It was more then enough to convince me to get the game when its out. Multiprey is fun but at times it seems a little...wonky I think the term would be, none the less its alot of fun still. Anyone else get a little confused or vertigo at some points during the gravity and portal areas? Those where the coolest parts!

Yeah, I definitely felt a little disoriented. At one place in particular I kinda had to shake my and just say, "Whoa."
I like the idea of spirit walking as well. This way you can't actually die. After seeing the huge ship it made me hope the game is really THAT long once it comes out because I could use a good, long FPS. On the bad side... I'm not impressed with heat/ice gun. Maybe later on it gets better, but I'm really not a fan of that gun. And now to wait for the full version. ------------------- Windows XP Home 32-bit 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo 3GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB

I just love this game... Played through the single player side of this demo like 6 times and it is amazing how many times get disorientated and forget where i am in correlation to the task at hand heh...
It seems to be the perfect FPS, it has rather original weapon concepts, and level layouts especially with the portals you don't know how many times i have looked through a portal just to see an enemy on the wall to find that it was me after i killed it haha... Such an amzing game, what is the exact genre of this game cause like i would label it as a sci fi shooter but like the game has also scared the crap out of me in some areas (no help because of my headphones) heh but yeah i can't place it in a category. One thing that did let me down was the visuals, they are amazing but round some areas especially the bathrooms at the beggining it just seemed like Doom 3 with bump mapping which is kinda lame cause i don't like to sub conciously compare it to Doom 3 just cause it uses the same graphics engine. -------------------

Well, you kinda have to consciously compare it to Doom3 and Quake 4 because it uses the same graphics engine. It's like seeing evolution... You can't see it unless you compare. It's not a bad thing, it's just a fact of gaming... You compare new things to things that came before it. As far as I'm concerned Doom3 is the best looking game out there next to Oblivion, but Oblivion requires like two PCs to run it at it's best.
I can't say whether Prey looks better yet because I haven't played the whole thing. So far it looks very pretty and probably will continue. I'd call is a sci-fi FPS... That's what I called Half-Life when it came out and it scared me a few times. ------------------- Windows XP Home 32-bit 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo 3GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB

Downloaded the demo today and played through the single player. I thought it was superb and very original. I was expecting another DooM clone, but this game is unique and much more enjoyable.
The thing is, i went to play Multiplayer and i couldn't find 1 single server. The game is in my "allowed" firewall programs. Anyone else had this problem? -------------------

Downloaded today, a bit tough for my comp, graphically, but then I don't really upgrade it for gaming because the only other PC game I play is football manager, which has next to no graphics.
Pretty impressed with gameplay although I didn't complete the demo levels just now, I like the tense beginning and so on, melee combat seemed a little dodgy though. Nonetheless, this has me interesting, I may buy the full game at some point, most likely on the 360 though.

I have the full version, and...meh, once you get past the excitement of gravity rotation and spirit walking, it is just another Doom 3 clone.
Granted, it's still a good game. ------------------- ![]()
