Basically the coolest thing in this game was multiplayer. As you said, playing with friends was really fun. I loved killing the bosses and this was one of the hardest games ever.

the coolest part was beating it on hard and having no guys left and realizing that the brain isnt dead when it chases you up while you are on the helicopter

Multi-player action on Contra III can't get any better. I used to play this for hours with friends trying to beat it. It's one of the hardest games ever, I think.
