This game is great, I have a complete copy still in the box in mint condition, and several others that I use for playing purposes.

No. By far the worst Castlevania game. This game's consistently annoying. Only 3 bosses, and when you get to Dracula's Castle there's nothing there except Dracula, who looks nothing like Dracula.

I would also call this the "Least good" Castlevania game, although I have yet to play the new ones for PS2. I liked this game, but I hated that *bleep*ing box that keeps popping up. I played it on my friends NES, and now I gotta go get a copy myself.

I actually liked Castlevania II quite a bit, but it was pretty fustrating at times. The multiple ending thing is pretty annoying too, trying to get the "best" ending (the one with the skull hand reaching from the grave) can be difficult sometimes even if you know what you're doing. Still, I liked the RPG idea behind the game though, being a bit more free-form than the other NES Castlevania titles.

I played it back when it was brand new and I was like 12 years old. I remember beating it and liking it. Somehow I got the hand reaching out of the grave ending without even meaning to. I doubt I would like it as much now, though. If I remember right it was kind of repetitive.

I own this game, but i rarely play it.
Maybe I should fire it up again...

my opinion is that its a great game, tho it really annoys me how when u die u loose all ur hearts and have to restart. plus theres only a few bosses. other thing is that it really doesint give u clues on how to pass through the wall at the dead end part. or that u have to throw an oak stake at the orbs when there isnt a boss. i thought it was a weapon. surprisingly, thats almost directly copied from the angry video game nerd's review of this game. i wasnt even trying to copy, this is really what i think of the game.
