Hard to say, they're both great games with their own unique things. Then again, almost all the RPG & Strategy games Nintendo made for GBA are great.

i have beat both games and if i could only choose one i would have to say golden sun is better. there both really great games but graphics wise golden sun is better and it's alot newer. with breath of fire you can sometimes tell how old it is becouse of the graphics.

I have played both games, and Breath of Fire is obviously better than Golden Sun. with GS, you're only buying half a game, since you need to buy the sequel to complete it.
Get BoF, it's worth it. | |

Obviously every RPG Nintendo makes for GBA is getting a sequel. Golden Sun 2, Breath of Fire 2, Megaman EXE 2. They're all over the place. Breath of Fire 2's probably going to be the same as the SNES version.

I don't think you understood what I said. Bof1 and Bof2 are different games, so you can be content with just the first one. GS2 is a continuation of the first game, as you go to the other 2 towers that were missing in the first game.
So, technically, you're paying $80 for one RPG that's not even as good as the $40 one. Sure it has nice graphics, but Bof is made by an established comany and has a nice storyline. And, for a game made long ago, it still rivals graphics of most GBA games. Golden Sun, however, is just a showy RPG that isn't that exciting to play.

Golden sun is way better that bof. First off golden sun is new bof is a port. Second golden sun has way better music sound and graphics and third golden battle system is way better that bof.

Golden sun is better, I think. although gs is only 1/2 a game because of that ppl want to carry on the game and find out wat happens afterwards.

quote Golden SunActually, you're a completely different person in the second one. Your mother's from the dragon clan and your father... well, let's say he's not. The whole plot is funny and amusing, though weird in some ways. You get to build your own town and ask people to live in it. ------------------- ![]() Thanks HL!

Whoever thinks breath of fire is better than golden sun is about as smart as a rock. Golden Sun KILLS BoF by far the storyline is better, and the graphics, i could draw better graphics than the ones in Breath of fire. Breath of Fire is an OLD game, Golden Sun is new and it is wayyyyy more fun. Dont get me wrong, Breath of Fire is a great game, it just pisses me off when people diss Golden Sun. I cant wait for Golden Sun 2 to come out. And ill be sure to check out BoF 2

Golden Sun is definetly better. GS compared to BoF is a good example on how the genre has changed and developed. In BoF, sometimes you don't even get a hint on what u should do. The graphics in GS are also way, way better (especially the spells).
quoteAnd here's the scoop on the sequel stuff. Yes, GS, however long it is, it's not a complete story. The next game will continue. Think like how the "Empire Strikes Back" didn't have an ending. BoF is a "complete" plot. The next game is a different story, however in the same world with the same hero. BoF doesn't conclude after Auira, and BoF2 doesn't pick up in the sea, does it.
