Somethings depending on which ring you have
Here are some I know: Tunic(Duh) Handle of wooden sword Bottom of arrow Part of the first boomerang By change I mean ex: If you have the blue ring the handle of the wooden sword will be blue Can you find more? | |

I believe the rings only affect the colour of Link's tunic. Blue ring for white tunic. Red ring for red tunic. They don't affect the sword.
For the sword, are you sure you didn't pick up the white sword? That has a blue handle. Equally, the arrows (silver arrows) and boomerang (magical boomerang) have upgrades that are different colours. Unaffected by rings I believe. ------------------- | |

Blue ring lets you take 1/2 damage.
