thoughts on alien adaptivity |
|
well, i've started my first thread on a subject that i have been wondering about lately. alien adaptivity. how far does it go? when i watched alien a week ago, a thought occured to me. every single alien that has been born so far (excluding that ugly thing from ressurection) has been born someplace dark (not including any of the games.) and is darkly colored. my thought is, what if one were born someplace not so dark? for instance, what if an alien were born in someplace snowy. would it be a white alien? would it adapt that far? i've been wondering this for a week now, and i'd like to try and contact ridley scott with this thought, so if anyone could tell me an e-mail address or something, that would be nice, and please write on this thread, i'd like to discuss this

I think it's probably likely that they would. Depending on which host the alien burst out of it takes on the characteristics of them. So I assume it would be effected by the envrionment too.

You could be onto something... It seems that they are really adaptive species, indeed... I´m wondering why they changed the dog to ox in the remake of Alien3... That alien was reddish brown in color and it was "born" almost mature. I wonder how many generations it takes for them to fully adapt to a new host species.
