I agree that lvl 9's can develop bad habits, but as WL has stated, they can help your combo speed. They don't really help in any other way than that tho because of their unorthodox way of fighting. There r also ways that pretty much always work against them. In my experience, comps will always fall for and get punished if u DD or side step because they will attack and miss, but they can always predict any other of my movements. U can't really know how good your mind games r without playing human players which is very important for being good.
They also r very good at stopping your aerials if they don't have a lot of priority which r a big part of practically evry character. They seems to get hit consistently by dash attacks and smashes, which r usually not attacks you want to start out with or use too often. The comps play with perfect timing and they r not very bright so u won't improve much or at all. Excessive lvl 9 playing will most likely get u into bad habits. There r probably some people who r immune to this, but most shouldn't play lvl 9's if they r trying to improve often.

..Marth. If you're going to type correctly like you're trying to do, don't replace words with letters. -_-
Level 9s are the best thing to train against if you're like me and have no players to fight. -------------------

computers aren't very good to perform combos on. they don't use good methods to escape.

Lvl 9's aren't good to see how well a combo works, but they do help u know if u r fast enough or if it is possible for an attack to be returned by a certain character. Some people when trying a new combo on a lvl 1 feel no reason to execute attacks quickly, but then they get surprised when they try it on a lvl 9.
Overall comps r not good to practice on for combos because of their predictable DI pattern or in some cases, little amounts of DI. They also rarely tech, but there may be some exceptions I'm unaware of.

iirc, level 9s DI after the first instance in a combo, so they aren't all bad to practice continual ones on, like pillaring. They also have perfect reaction time, so you can find out if you're fast enough, such as when linking drillshines.
Just don't try to beat them. That's when you get the bad habits. -------------------

training mode is better for shine combos, unless you want to drillshine and use the c stick to dair.
there are lots of combos that work on CPUs but don't on real people, since CPUs never double jump after getting hit while still on the stage

I guess lvl 9's r not bad for practicing sweet spotting attacks with Marth so u can try on a moving target, but they don't really tech often, so that could mean u get another hit off. I also at on point tried to see if they would help my chain grabbing, but they didn't DI at all when I would uthrow them. But they helped me pillar when I was playing as Falco tho.

They DI the right way against the chain throws, methinks... meh. DIing behind is actually what you should do in that instance, and I'm pretty sure they like to DI and tech towards.

I can honestly say that ive learned alot of things from playing level nine coms. if not for play them alot i wouldnt be able to shine spike against link, fox or falco. as its been said they can do many things better than humans such as timing even if they dont fight very well. only reason i play them is to learn how to do combos, such as the drill shine infinite, under stress which a level one cant really give me. its all about learning to make a move a habit that you can use in a strenuous situation without have to think about it to much.
and level ones are considered better than level 9's because they dont do alot of the stupid movements that 9's do which can give you a false idea about how the game should be played and make you develope bad playing habits. ------------------- PM me if you can solve my banner ![]()
