For most of us, the first time we saw the tier list we had barely started using advanced techniques or had not started at all. I'm sure we all had our moments of thinking "I had a feeling this character would be (certain place in tier list)" or "Woah, why is (character x) so high/low and above/below (character y)

Expected Placings:

1) Fox/Falco- I thought they could combo and pressure opponents well(My impression of what a "combo" and "high pressuring" has changed much since then.)

2) Sheik- Back in the days of being a casual smasher, I thought she was the best comboer. Three moves, Ftilt, dash attack, and Fair ''

3)Marth- I had a feeling pros would exploit Marth's sword range to oblivion, and I was right. Little did I know that Marth could combo and edgeguard considerably better I imagined.

Surprise:

1) ICs(higher than expected)- I thought they had only decent combos and speed until I saw Chu Dat''

2) Link(Placed where I expected b4 I saw Anki and Germ play, then lower than I expected after)- I thought Link was a decent character before I saw the tier list, but then I saw Germ and Aniki play and then I changed into thinking Link was good. Later I saw Link being low tier. I was one very confused, new smasher.

3) DK(higher than I expected)- It scared the crud out of me to see DK doing very high damaging combos(they were on space animals, bit still, )

4) CF-(higher than I expected) I had no idea that CF could combo so well(I spamed his B moves so when I played as him so he seemed terrible.)

Link and Luigi should be higher than Ganondorf, imo.

Its all about balance. Zelda should be right up there with Shiek and let me tell you why. Zelda is a defensive player. Shiek is most definitely offensive. Combine the two and you have balance. In fact, if it weren't for Zelda/Sheik being the same playable character, I'dve not beaten the greatest Fox player in the midwest.

link and luigi need to be moved to mid tier so they dont rape in low-tier tourneys

Link need to be higher
Dr Mario needs to be lower
Luigi needs to be higher
Mewtwo needs to be higher.

DK and Link need to be higher. i see them as Middle tier material.

As for lower, I think Ganondorf should have been lower.

Even Ken's commented on how difficult it is to be awesome with Ganondorf.

Personally I would find it weird seeing Link/Luigi/DK in mid tier. They don't seem quite at the same level as the mid tier characters even though they r not far off(not sure how good Gannondorf can be in a great player's hands however.) Maybe Link and Luigi are too powerful for low tier tournaments, so moving them to bottom of mid tier might not be completely unreasonable, but moving DK to mid tier is probably pushing it.

The gap between a competent Falcon player vs a competent Ganondorf player is so far apart, I don't think they deserve the same tier. I've seen Link and Luigi players who pretty much proved they shouldn't be allowed in low tier tournaments.

Sheik is no Fox or Falco, but to knock her out of the top tier after all these years still doesn't seem right to me.

The tier list needs one last retuning before Brawl takes the main stage, imo.
