General Questions & HELP!!!

Hi, i'm new here if no one noticed. I play as a HUnwearl (i think thats it, the female hunter), i'm currently lvl 37 and have been lurking around these forums for some time now.

I have been playing PSO Ver.2 on my friend's DreamCast and his own PSO disc. I was wondering if i would be able to use my character if i buy my own DreamCast and my own PSO disc

re: Question

I'm not sure, one thing i do know, if you buy a copy, start a character, and then if you try taking your made character to play it in other copy... it wont work

re: Question

This can not be done unless you put the same serial number and access key in as is on his DC and if you do this only one of you will be able to get online and the only way to copy over your game to a different memory card is if you have one of the massive memory cards that is able to save stuff on your computer

I will just say buy the DC and game if you want and just start over you aren't that far into the game where you can't just start over

Oh yea if you do buy a game and decide to start over again (which is wise) you can always just ask Team Neo members to help you out or give you some stuff^_^

re: Question

Ok, thanks a alot for your help! I don't know if I am going to start over or not...i may just play on my friend's DC for now - costs less money for me right?

However, if i do start over ..would anyone be willing to hold my mag (which is maxed out!) along with my meseta, weapons, armor, etc? Than give it back to me?
i wouldn't feel right asking for strangers to give me free things - but IF i do start over would anyoen be willing to toss out some tech. discs?

Soul Slasher, you mentioned a BIG memory card being used to copy over to a different memory card - wouldn't that still prohibit me from using my current character and VMU on a new DC and PSO disc? That pretty much confused me

oh yeah, does it matter that i didn't play online yet...? i've only played offline.

*wonders why sega had to go and make such a stupid thing as to not allow people to play on different systems and discs - shesh*

re: Question

Thanks Slayer SOD!!

I still not sure if am going to restart, i've heard that if you haven't subscribed for a hunter's license you would be able to somehow delet your serial number off of you memory card, start on a new system and disc, and still keep your character..though i'm not sure

at any rate, i wouldn't need you, Slayer, to hold my stuff until after X-mas

re: Question

sorry to tell you this but there is no way that you can use that character on a new dc unless you use your friends serial but that will ban him/her from playing online and you will be banned to

hope that makes sense you can mail me on

if you want me to watch you stuff

re: Question

SlayerSOD is right as usual.
If you had been playing version 1 you would have been able to switch DC's, but version 2 is different. Playing offline only also helps, but not enough. You'll have to get a new character, besides getting to level 40 is fun, and it takes like 3 days. Wait till you hit 70, or 101, geez talk about nightmares.

re: Question

The safe bet is to just start over, even if it's annoying. Anyway, glad to see a new face around here (well at least one willing to get an account ), welcome aboard!

re: Question

ok, ONE more thing (hopefully!) I heard of PSO for PCs...does this mean i can buy a PC version of PSO and still connect online to the same servers as teh DC version? If so, i might just buy the PC version and make a new character from that - less money right?

...is it just me or am i annoying

re: Question

I doubt they'll let you play with dreamcast users. Maybe if you're lucky tho it'll be compatible with gamecube/x-box version players. But definitely no pc/dc compatibility.

So, if you have any friends on the dc version, it'll be best to just get the dc version.

Any more questions?

re: Question

Nope none! Thanks again!

I figured out what i am going to do.
I amd buying my friend's dreamcast and PSO disc from him (i'm giving him a used dreamcast and a new pso disc as a trade) His character is only lvl 7 so he can't start over

Sounds good to me, so i'll be online about a week after x-mas!!

re: Question

Um, sorry to counterattack, but I think that the only factor here is if you've played online or not. If not, you're ok, and start from where you left off. If so, then you'll have to start over. Am I not right?
