i would have to disagree. if this were really no contest then i doubt that ray_masamune would have created the thread. i believe that freya and garnett would win. in ff4 you only had 3 commands and the abilites in them while in ff9 you had a whoile bunch of specials that you learn with weapons like dragon crest and plus there is trance.

If Dagger was to face off with Rydia:

-Rydia can summon more creatures! (10 points)

-Dagger can summon Ark! (10 points)

-Rydia was thought to be dead, however, came back better then ever! (15 points)

-While Rydia can summon more, Dagger's Eidolons seem more powerful. Have you seen those FMV of Bahamut, Odin, and Atomos?! They could ravage the entire continent in days if they werent restricted to only staying in the Earth Realm for so short a time! (20 points)

-Rydia lost her Mom and village. poor girl (10 points)

-Dagger lost two moms and her City. poorer girl (15 points)

-Dagger's emotions caused her to disobey my commands! (-10 points)

-In Trance Mode, Her Eidolons Counter you, with no MP lost! (10 points)

FINAL SCORE:

RYDIA: 35 points.
DAGGER: 45 points.

Now for KAIN v.s. FREYA

- Kain actually looks like a Dragon Knight! (15 points)

- Freya can not only JUMP high, but has Dragon-related abilities! (15 points)

- Kain was the main character's Rival! (20 points)

- Freya lost her Lover and city. Poor girl. (10 points)

- Kain is too easily manipulated. (-10 points)

- Kain is unloyal and a jealous bastard. (-5 points)

- Freya is not human!!! (10 points)

- Kain is so cool... (10 points)

- Freya is cooler (15 points)

- Would Kain hurt a girl? (0 points)

FINAL SCORE:

KAIN: 30 points.
FREYA: 50 points.

Maybe its just my opinion... :}
However things could go differently, if they attacked the other...

True, the characters in FF4 are much better than those in FF9, and FF4 is a better game overall. But as for strength and abilities, FF9 characters are superior. I think Ray_Masamune summed it all up really.

all i have to say is that old school still rocks. so i say FF4 will destroy FF9.

Come on Ray what do you expect the answer to be in the FF4 Forum?Surely most will say FF4 better,i think some never even play FF9 before.

ive played FF9. and i still dont think some monkey boy and his friends can win.

Don't get me wrong okay guys,i didn't insult anyone,it was just my opinion...I've play both before but i like FF9 better because it has more commands and better graphics that's all....

im my opinion, some people say games are better cause they have better graphics. to me, i dont care about graphics. if i like the story of the game. then i think its a great game.

Anyways, Ive played and beaten both, and FF4 is a cool game, but ff9 is also a fun game.
I for one, do not judge games by graphics at all, and the graphics in FF9 werent really that amazing anyways because the people looked like little kids.

And maybe the FF4 people I named might have won...

And Zidane being a monkey-boy is why he would lose? He is a Genome, while the FF4 characters are only human. And from what Ive seen in FF9, Genomes can get pretty powerful.

Kuja was powerful enough to destroy a planet (Terra) and apparently, Zidane has hidden powers and is meant to become even more powerful then Kuja.

Also, FF9 may seem more funny and kiddish, but the characters in it do have serious moments like in FF4.

They are also battle-hardened warriors that have faced many harsh losses. The only difference is, they seem to be able to enjoy themselves.

I liked FF4 characters. Kain, Edge... Fusoya... there all cool, but I dont know if they are really as powerful.

I mean Kain is strong, but Freya easily jumps towers in ff9, and has Dragon abilities as upposed to just jumping like Kain.
