Battery life |
|
Okay, I was working on a Journalism project on how long batteries last, and i ran out of time. Now I am SCANNING Google, Yahoo, Msn, Aol, and Ask.com for answers! if anyone know the maximum battery life for an HP laptop, and a Mac? I know Vaio's max, I'm using one right now. ^^ any way, if anyone knows the answers, on average, like the air book for mac, or the newest PC computer, please tell me!! ASAP!

There is no set time for how long a battery will last. It all depends on use, how often its charged, how old it is, how well it was built, temperature, and many other things. ------------------- ![]()

My 17" HP gets about 3.5 hours before it needs to be recharged, but other HP laptops may only last 3 hours, or even 2.5. ------------------- ![]()

Dont take that to mean that every single HP laptop will get exactly 3.5 hours of battery life. I have a pretty high end laptop with the best battery option so thats why my battery life is like that. If I got the lower battery model I may only get about 2.5 hours. A smaller laptop may get about 4 hours too. It all depends on the configuration and battery type/size. ------------------- ![]()

the only true comparison is if you test each ones life with identical tasks, ie watching a 3 hr movie on each one and see what lasts longest. ------------------- ![]() Guestbook Do it Yourself Forum

re: Battery life |
quote axforts2212To test just the battery itself, it has to be running on the same computer, or an identical computer (tested to consume the same amount of power), in the same environment, at the same startup temperature. Battery must also be in the same state (like, both running at full charge, similarly early on in their lives)....And yes, running the same programs and movies. To test between computer model power consumption, the same settings and such, need to be used. Monitors are also a variable that need accounting. A power efficient laptop monitor would probably save a good amount of time on the battery. LCDs can be real energy hogs, especially when at brighter settings. -------------------
