re: Folding @ Home II

iceguy both ati and nvidia recently released new drivers.
nvidia released thier newest late last week.

i see now why slayer is calling his rig a heater.I put the 260gtx in and the q9550 and the temp in my little corner went up a few degrees.
i have been tweaking and testing my system all weekend and will get back to folding more as i get it all settled down.

Are you enjoying that new 260? Nice little beast.

Wow, I went to check for those new drivers you mentioned, and they just released a new set TODAY. Downloading as we speak.

love the 260. huge gain from my 8800gt. cut 40 min off each fold.3d06 score up around 17000.
the q9550 puts out a smp in about 15hrs.

re: Folding @ Home II

I am thinking about installing the SMP client (see what my e8400 can do) but I am unsure about the two versions. Does anyone know the difference between the DEINO and MPICH? I tried looking it up but that didn't help.

I could not get the DEINO version to run so i am using the MPICH.they are about the same but the DEINO version handles restarts better.

I am finally able to see Courgan on the stats list using kakaostats, and it's only going to take me 166,787 days to catch up to him! Why do I have a funny feeling I won't catch up to him?

It looks like some of our folders are slacking *cough* Kspiess *cough* What happened to your monster rigs? I know when you had them on you flew past me in the rankings!

I have been having stability issues since my upgrade and have not been able to fold as much as before.barely getting 3-4 units done a day.

That sucks...lately I have noticed that I am running less WU's but gaining more points. Usually it takes me 2 hours to finish a WU and I get 3xx points per, but now it's taking about 5 hours to finish but I am getting over 1000 points per unit. I wonder if thats because I have verbosity 9 flag on?

that is true.takes longer and more points but that still does not solve my rig and it's random restarts.

Do you have anything overclocked? If you have both the GPU and CPU client are running they maybe conflicking with each other.

Have you changed any of the voltages? or is it possible that you have a piece of hardware failing?

re: Folding @ Home II

reset all volts back to stock at the time of upgrade and i think that the stock settings are a little low for the cpu/mobo combo while folding.

We have to pass 10 more teams, then we'll be ranked in the top 1,000 for the folding at home team ranking!

I think we'll get it this week.
