re: Folding @ Home II

wow, so much for being a low priority and discreet program eh?

hah, recently ive been hitting 75 degree temps, so i decided to turn my intake fan into an exhaust fan. the temps dropped by 5 degrees! niiiice. time for more CPU strain!

and id really like to clean the dust in my heatsink, but the fan is in such a way that makes it impossible to do so without having to remove it all and re applying the thermal paste...and i cbb going to get some.

yep for some reason my 260gtx 216 slows down more than my 8800gt did

re: Folding @ Home II

thats....unusual to say the least. either the processing methods are different between the series, or your 260 might just be one of them bad builds. right?

re: Folding @ Home II

no more than likely it is the old p35 not liking the 260 and q9550 set up like it did the e8400 and 8800.

re: Folding @ Home II

just wondering if the board could run it.My kid has my old 939 and it barely handles the ati 2600 and would not run my 8800gt.saving money myself to get me a p45 and give her my p35,e8400and 8800gt.then use her rig to fold on as well

re: Folding @ Home II

ok im 62% into my second unit. however, i have a question regarding the 'steps'. in my first unit i had 500 steps to do, and it took ages. now my current unit has 1500 steps, and its faster. is there any measurable way to determine a rough time till completion using the info of the total steps?
