The newest PS3 update will let you browse the internet while running the program, or something like that. I'm downloading it now. Can you run your PS3 and computer at the same time and get points for both? -------------------

i think so. as long as its the same user name and you can have up to 16 different folding clients running on different computers (not 16 on every computer, just in case you might have thought that)

Well, I have this PC with I think about 2GB RAM, I can't remember though. I have my PS3, which I have no idea how much RAM it has, it's a 60GB version. I have my own Laptop with 3GB RAM and a Dual Core, and I can try and get my dad on board with his laptop, though it's incredibly slow. -------------------

i dont think RAM is that much of a problem. the CPU, or GPU, depending on your client type, is what matters. the faster the processor, the better. memory isnt an issue at all. i mean, i can easily run F@H on around 700 megs of RAM, with firefox and winamp running (basically meaning i have 2 or 3 hundred megs left from my RAM)

Yeah, this computer is pretty fast, so I should be fine. It's been running for about 10 minutes, and says I have 0/1500 work units done. How do I know it's even doing anything? -------------------

open you your task manager and look for the folding @ home process. look at the cpu percentage.
also, if you hover over the systray icon (assuming you have the GUI version), it will say 'working'. -------------------

It's at around 50%-60% most of the time. Yeah, it says Working, but I thought it was a bit faster than this. I know this computer is blazing fast, it's still pretty new. It's set to defrag every morning, too. It just went to 15/1500 after about 19 minutes. -------------------

going from 0 to 15 in 19 minutes is quite fast actually...then again...what are your specs?

quote Sapphire DragonI would turn this feature off. Defrag will take up some resources and cause a slow down. Especially if you are using the CPU client version. -------------------

Hiigaran:: I really can't remember the PC's specs, to be honest. Courgan:: GPU version? I thought it only had one version. Where do I download a faster version? RCM:: Already did. -------------------

I'm running a CPU version... is there a GPU version too?
I have an ATi card if that helps. ------------------- ![]() THE WORLD IS ENDING. THE WRITING FORUM CAN'T ACCEPT CRITICISM. OH NOES.

Here is a link for the GPU version's of the client. If I were you I would look at what cards are supported. I am not sure off the top of my head but it say's it on the website.
