re: Folding @ Home II

hey everyone,
i am interested in participating folding.

I went to download the client and it was x86, can someone show me where the x64 version is?

Also how many points should i expect per day?

Are you looking for the GPU or the CPU version?

The points will be different depending what you do. If your GPU can handle it, you will get a lot more points out of it compared to the CPU.

I don't think there is a version for 64bit. But if I'm worng please let me know.

re: Folding @ Home II

I would use the GPU client console version. The console version is not visually appealing but the work units get done at a slightly faster rate.

Here is the link:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther

It should be the third one down.

alright thanks,

and how do i get the ranking graphic for my signature?

Also with this version i see no indication that i am even folding besides the processes in the task manager. Is there another version that has some visuals?

The first one in the link is for the other more visual client.

As for the sig. I got it from Courgan so when he see's this, hopefully he has the address.

And, welcome to our folding team!

re: Folding @ Home II

does the console client work faster for the CPU version as well? and when its running as a service, how can you tell what its progress is?

it takes up to 3 hrs after they recieve the completed work unit before you get any points and they are having trouble with the reporting server right now.

you can download fahmon to keep up on where you are at on the work unit.
