I might give this thing a shot tomorrow, as it's late here.

Is your CPU overclocked? My CPU (Phenom 9850) hits 30 under load on stock cooling.

re: Folding @ Home II

yep e8400 running at 3.6 day to day.ran at 4 gig for a while then backed it off.

if running windows try the gpu version as you will get more units done for more points than what the amd client on the cpu will give you.

btw nice putting the team stats at the bottom of the main page slayer
any chance on getting it put on the home page?

I saw your and RCM331's banners and went to that site and came up with that. I'm still messing around with it a bit, if it could show more info that would be cool.

As far as getting it on the homepage of Neo, thats up to Redemption.

Try this:

code
[img]http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/sigs/sigimage.php/un=RCM331/t=53701/[/img]

just take that out and change my user name to yours. Since we are on the same team you can leave the team number.

It's downloaded and running. CPU percentages are hovering around 25%-30%.

Whoa, what? Due date April 10?

We've nearly doubled in active members. I'm back in it, btw. Noticed I went from 5th to 7th, lol, so, a little competition livened me up.

It's nice to know a little competition has gotten some of you back in to folding. I've noticed now that I haven't moved from 17th place, looks like Slayer has gotten back in to things as well.

Now that all of use are back on the wagon, I have noticed that our team rank is moving along as well....lets keep up the good work!

You can use a nice program called FahMon to get a good idea of your estimated PPD (points per day) as well as estimated completion times. I like checking it out because its a bit more informative than reading the logs (although it shows that too). It's also nice because if you run multiple clients or multiple machines you can theoretically get a consolidated place to watch things. Eg you could setup all your machines to have their work directories on a network shared drive and then setup Fahmon to monitor those work directories.

Make sure to:
  • set your time offset so that the estimates will use your timezone (the log entries are still in GMT tho ).
  • show the log since it gives you valuable info (press F8).

FahMon works in Win/OSX/Linux !

and with slayer putting the stats on the overclocking main page it should get more people at least interested if not folding.

wish we could get more of the members back folding than what we have now and more new members would be great.

re: Folding @ Home II

Well when was the last announcement for F@H? When we first started doing it? Perhaps if we put up another one to remind the previous folders as well as the new comers?

It looks like the last forum-wide announcement was back in October 07.

Its only at the bottom of the page where not that many people would notice it though . I would put it at the top, but theres not really enough room with out making the header look too crowded. I may mess around with it and see if I can find a way to add it to the top while making it look good at the same time. If anyone has any suggestions for it, let me know.

I downloaded the FahMon, but when I try and add a new client I have no clue what to put for Location. It looks like it needs the log file, but I have no idea where thats saved at.

Is it really supposed to fold this slow?

code
[14:41:23] Completed 245000 out of 500000 steps (49 percent)
[15:56:57] Writing local files
[15:56:57] Completed 250000 out of 500000 steps (50 percent)

[18:28:01] Writing local files
[18:28:01] Completed 260000 out of 500000 steps (52 percent)
[19:43:30] Writing local files
[19:43:30] Completed 265000 out of 500000 steps (53 percent)

It's running on a 2.6GHz desktop with 512MB RAM.

re: Folding @ Home II

If you are folding with your CPU, expect 2 - 3 days per each WU. Maybe a little less with a C2D.
