Increase 2 program?

I think I'm going to need another video card if I'm ever going to raise another rank.

Oh, I thought someone linked to it on here, but I guess I found it in google. InCrease is just a program for the Mac to help run F@H. Its pretty user friendly, and helps run F@H on the mac.

Wow, ever since I installed that increase 2 program, I swear my work units have been flying by. I average about one work unit a day now it seems. I started one last night about an hour before I shut down my computer, and its already on another one. I'd say it takes about 12-14 hours for me to do one.
that sounds about right.
it takes about 26 hrs for me to run a smp with my c2d so the quads should get one done in 12-13hrs.

re: Folding @ Home II

I was wondering...is it possible to run the GPU version and the CPU version at the same time? I know that the GPU version uses some of the CPU but can another instince of FaH run?

re: Folding @ Home II

Well I can't speak for nVidia users but my 4850 while folding does tap in about 35-40% cpu load when everywhere I look people are saying it's supposedly completely offloaded to the gpu. Thats also with the cpu usage set to 5% the lowest figure you can select. Then I run the SMP client while the gpu is going as well. So that should answer your question. Once that hits then the gpu and cpu are at 95-100% load constantly. Takes me something like 4 hours to do a gpu WU and like 2 days for a SMP WU with my cpu heavily overclocked which kinda shocks me. I don't think it should be taking that long.

re: Folding @ Home II

The way I have it now is that I run the GPU, I am really not sure the % of CPU that it takes up. And it takes me about 2-2 1/2 hours to finish one WU. Just trying to see if I can get more WU's done on the same machine.

re: Folding @ Home II

Yeah run one of the cpu clients at the same time, you will get less WU's done in the same time frame but you will get more points because of the two clients going.

re: Folding @ Home II

i run the smp for the cpu and the nvidia gpu.
around 3 hours for the gpu and 26 for the smp.

i loose about 20 min off of the gpu by running the smp but the extra points are worth it.i get 1920 per smp right now.the unicore i was getting 908 and it took longer than the smp.

re: Folding @ Home II

Yeah but you can run two unicores simultaneously to match the smp on a dual core.

Only when you're using the smp client.

tried that and my rig did not like it.
besides the smp runs faster on mine than the unicore did.

re: Folding @ Home II

I'm getting 1920 points running the CPU also, with 108 points per hour, taking about 14 hours to complete. Is that good for the CPU client?

re: Folding @ Home II

I was looking ay my stats on this page and it says I am ranked 87,900 but then when I go to the FaH website I am ranked 108,564. Does anyone know why there is such a difference between the two? I thought maybe it hasn't updated but thats not the case.
