actually, you might be surprised. some people get licenses for 5 systems (not all that common, but more than what you might be thinking).

Could I run two RAID0 setups at once?
For example:

2x 30GB SSDs running the OS and several games RAID0'd
2x 500GB HDs holding the files+pictures RAID0'd

Would that work?
If it would, it would be the ultimate start-up machine...

you will have to be very conservative if you wanna squeeze the games and OS into 60gb space. dunno about this setup will work though. Ask hiigaran.

the SSD's raided would, or should, offer a nice speed increase, but how many games do you have? youll need to leave 15 gigs free for optimisation, then take away the OS + updates, and youll have, what? 15 to 25 gigs of space for games? these days thats equal to 2 or 3 games. or will you just have your favorite games there, and older or other games in the 500 gig drives? either way, this should work out.

What does a RAID card do? They seem pretty expensive, on Newegg, the common ones go for the $500 area.

Also, with the OS business, I understand that each serial can only be used on one computer, but if for example, I had the product key written down and had an OS disk, and a Hard Drive fails permanently, could I get a new hard drive and re-put in the product key? Or would I just have to get a whole new OS? Is it like one OS at a time, but you can't have two going at the same time?

do you know what raid is firstly? if so, its basically like the onboard raid on the mobo, but because its separate, it usually gives better performance and/or a wider range of RAID options to choose from.

as the the operating systems, that will work. if your hard drive blows, you have no choice but to get another one and reinstall your OS. as long as its not on more than one computer at a time, its fine.
