Problem running a program

I downloaded the Desperados 2: Coopers Revenge (PC Game) from brothhersoft.com and I installed it and tried opening the prgram but it says:

Insifficient privilieges: you must be administartor when you run this application for the first time.

I only have 1 account in my laptop and its a adminastrator so why isn't it opening?

(I have a HP Laptop with Windows Vista).

I also right-clicked and click on run as administator but nothing happens...

re: Problem running a program

right click the program and click run as administrator. if it works, then right click the icon again, go to properties, and under one of the tabs, there should be an option to run as administrator.

^vista is a bitch when it comes to this stuff.

True. Vista failed all the way. Alot of people say Win 7 is better than Vista and I agree. Btw, I un-installed the demo coz there was no point since I did everything I could but it still didn't work. Is this problem coming because of HP or Vista?

HP just puts the computers together. vista is the problem.

re: Problem running a program

oh.... In that case, I'm thinking to make a laptop into a dual boot laptop. XP & Win 7/Mac. Btw, if you take your comp into store (eg, pcworld) and ask them to upgrade your computer, then will they wipe out all your things in the comp and replace the motherboard etc and put new one in? And can you upgrade a computer regardless of how old it is? Becuase, I have a computer with and its litterally 9 years old. I forgot the RAM and memory but the MHz is 786

re: Problem running a program

its not worth doing anything with a 9 year old computer. scavenge any parts you may want, and then throw it away. a new computer is better than an upgrade on such an old thing.

re: Problem running a program

of course. any upgrade helps. its just a question of whether it is smart to do so or not. think about it - if you want to upgrade the RAM, theres no RAM compatible with anything back from 9 years ago. youd need a new motherboard. same goes for the CPU - youd need a new motherboard, and most likely a new power supply. video card? new motherboard, and new power supply. new motherboard? new case needed too.

so you see, either leave it, or get a new one.

Try going to Control Panel >> Personalization >> Adjust font size (DPI) >> and setting it to "Default scale (96 DPI). Sometimes DPI can give access errors.
