I used to read Spider-man Comics awhile back but I know nothing about Scarlet Spider or Ben Riley or any clones. Sorry.

However the MTV Spider-man, which I thought was pretty good. Had I think 13 Episodes and will be released on DVD in January(says 1/13/04). They really should have pushed it to before the holidays it's only a few weeks difference.

Speaking of great gifts, I had an idea awhile back.

Personally although Spider-man is my favorite comic from growing up (all of them Amazing, Sepctacular, Incredible, etc. etc.) it was my least favorite comic movie. (I am happy it did well however.) There is such a rich history there that will never be satisfactorily realized in film or maybe even animation (though they have a better shot).

Plus although they re-print big issues (#1) people still can't own them all and it is cost prohibitive to print them all, but they could be put on Cd-Rom or DVD very cheap and you only make what you need.

Everyone could own every single comic, more people could get work making new ones. Etc etc. Now I am way out of the loop but shouldn't this have happened already?

re: death of spiderman

Actually you can buy CD Rom's on eBay with huge collections of Spidey books on them.

Also, I don't agree about the Spidey Movie, certainly not about it being my least favorite anyway. Because, while it was not as true to the comic as I would have liked they really did a great job of some kind of "alternate" reality Spidey. Also as far as Super Hero movies that is especially where I disagree. I guess I have just been completely underwhelmed by all the Superman, X-Men, Batman and other movies and in my mind at least, I thought Spider-Man was actually the best.

I guess the thing is two fold, one I don't count any DC comics ones, cause I don't care. Two I really do like the Spider-man comics and just hope someday they get better movies.

I just expect more, but it obviously is difficult to find a starting point considering how much history there is already.

I care too much. I shouldn't have said it was my least favorite, but instead that I expect more. It did very well and I hope it gets better but it would be very hard for sequels to do better but as far as I am concerned it would not be difficult for them to be better. Problem is Spider-man is the only comic that I really know much about and I still don't know a lot, but I like what I know.

I haven't seen X2 yet, I would just buy it but I am hard to buy for and asked for it as a gift.

On a side note, wouldn't that be illegal? Unless they own the copyright on the material, publishers wouldn't like it if people scanned their books and then gave them away... and they REALLY don't like it when someone sells something they own.

But I guess there is some way around it because eBay would also be named in the suit and I don't think they would let that happen.

re: death of spiderman

Yes I believe the way around it is to have bidders bid on the "blank CD's" that the material comes on and the Comic book stuff is "free". Obviously that isn't the practical reality but it makes it more legal.

Also I know what you mean about the Spidey movies. They are made for the masses though and NOT just the Spidey fans. And your point about having so much history is true as well. I just don't see how it could be any other way though. It isn't like a cartoon series where you can have the history unfold in say 60 episodes in three years time. I was VERY VERY tolerant of the movie for that very reason and tried to see it as sort of something completely new NOT as something made directly from the comic. This is necessary ESPECIALLY considering that Peter was bitten by the radioactive Spider in 1962 NOT in 2001! LOL

Trust me! If you are going to enjoy the Spidey trilogy (as was promised anyway) you are going to HAVE TO let a lot of your Spidey Lore go and take it in anew, as a sort of alternate reality...er well as real as this can be anyway.

Their lucky I'm not a lawyer for Marvel, if they still own it anyway. haha

Well since they have started the movies (and that should be the hard part) now maybe we can have some fun with it. So I guess with your help I will let it go and focus instead on my lawsuit. haha

Also I hope the TV series continues, maybe we can have our cake and eat it too. People might scoff at an animated show but it could go really dark (really it has gone darker than the movies already, it's been pretty good). But of course we know better, to do a live action series would be cheesy and cost about a billion dollars(well a lot, not feasible in reality for a show) to do feature-length type effects for the 13 episodes so far.

They have cycled their cars quite a bit haha(A lot of porsches) but it still looks good.

re: death of spiderman

Kraven the Hunter commited suicide.

Before he did this, he wanted to beat Spider-man one last time.

He caught Spider-Man in a net and shot him with a rifle, containing a tranquilizer dart that put him into a coma for two weeks. He buried Spider-Man outside his estate.

During Spider-Man's time in the grave, Kraven put on Spider-Man's suit and masqueraded as Spider-Man.

This was all Kraven needed. He had beaten the Spider, he had become him, and he could have killed him.

After Spider-Man woke up, he returned home to Mary Jane. Kraven shot himself.

Flash Thompson was never a supervillain. Ned Leeds (The Hobgoblin) once tried to frame Flash as being the Hobgoblin, but Spider-Man eventually saw through this lie.

The Scarlet Spider is Ben Reilly, Peter Parker's clone as created by the Jackal. He was living in the west until he learned that Aunt May was sick, and he returned to New York and began to fight crime as the Scarlet Spider.

And the Spider-Man TV shows weren't very good. Pick up a comic book.

re: death of spiderman

holy crap! i remember making this post last year when i wasnt a member yet! wow. i cant believe its still on the first page! anyway, thanks. and to your advice about comics, i wish, but

i already read all the comics i have
the tv show was entertaining to me
there are no comic shops in my town
i have no money
it takes less energy to watch then to flip a page

btw, are they not making any more episodes? i dont know if there is one after the one where spider-man thinks that kraven killed MJ.

so, in retrospect, do u have any clue how spider-man dies?
