I love the Metal Slug series. In the arcade, only the slowdown has ever bothered me. Now that it's gone, the Xbox version runs incredibly fast, perhaps too fast for some folks. It's a fantastic shooter experience and (though I have only played four of the Slug games) Metal Slug 3 has always been my favorite. The additions, even the two new modes, are just minor touches. If this game were $20 or even $30 it would merit a better score and better recommendation. This is not a $40 value unless you absolutely must have this game on your Xbox. When this game drops in price (and it will), that's when you'll want to snatch it up for sure. If you are dying for an arcade shooter, there aren't many choices on Xbox, so if you're impatient and can't wait for a price drop, Metal Slug 3 won't disappoint. It's challenging and a lot of fun, it just doesn't make much use of what the Xbox has to offer.
