In case you don't know shinys are very rare Pokemon that have a different color scheme than the normal Pokemon. Post here if you have encountered a wild shiny besides Red Gyarados. Have you ever encounterd a shiny? If so, where? What type was It? What level? Please share your stories here.


Once when I was very young, I was wondering around right before Goldenrod when I encountered a wild female Gray level 11 Rattata. I didn't know why it was Gray so I captured it thinking it was more powerful than the average, but I soon learned, it wasn't.

The egg you get from the daycare centre has a 50% chance of hatching a shiny. So I got alot of Shineys from that. I also once saw a shiny Butterfree and , like you, I didn't know what it was. So I just ran from it. Stupid younger me.

I've actually never ever encountered a shiny besides red Gyarados. I guess I just have bad luck!

Same. I didn't even know what shinys were until a little while ago

I just thought Red Gyrados was some unique special thing added as a bonus.

Well alot of us have never seen shinies, likewise for me. I consider it unlucky although there is few who have seen a lot of shinies. Lucky i say.

I've just seen my second shiney in less then a week! I play all the time. It was a jigglypuff level 12 in the route above vermillion city. Don't worry if you haven't found a shiny. You soon will.

Well,I think I seen a shiny something but idk what it was know.

The only ones that I encountered were the gyrados, magicarp, and unown.

don't shinies pop up when you encounter a pokemon 1000+ times? i heard that from sombody once

No, that's a myth. The chances of finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild are entirely random.

On Ruby, I caught a shiny Tentacool once, and once I deleted it, I realized my shiny was still there and is now gone.

And then on Diamond, I found 2 shiny Geodude in a row, but they both Selfdestructed...
