Since all the swords were very close together before they scattered into cherry blossoms, the explosion was not very big, but all the cherry blossoms were much denser together, making the explosion more powerful! The cherry blossoms hit Hollow Ichigo's body and sliced him up extremely badly before he had the chance to unleash some spirit energy out of his body to protect himself, as Hollow Ichigo did not see the attack coming (firstly because he was busy laughing insanely, and second because the swords were literally right next to him the moment they scattered into cherry blossoms, so Hollow Ichigo had no time to react).
