Has anyone a solution to the ESC key inventory..flashing display, and making the game unplayable. I have tried compatibilty mode and other in game display options. Please help :-)

re: Win XP ESC Inventory Probs

I am getting the same problem with XP. The only way I know how to get out of this is to hit the F5 key for "quicksave", then hit the windows key to jump to your windows screen, then CTRL-ALT-DEL to end the program. I would then got back into the game and load the "quicksave" game and start from there. The ESC key problem will now be gone. I know, it's a pain in the rear.

re: Win XP ESC Inventory Probs

Thanks miner49er....I have 'greatly' reduced although not completely eliminated the problem by running the maximum video resolution ie 1280x1024 (I think those numbers are correct)..at least I can use the inventory key without colourful flashes and lockout. Now maybe only once in a couple of hours do I have a small prob..usually a blue gem hanging the esc key..however if you gather a silver or gold afterwards the prob seems to recover..strange. Any way as you have said, the game is at least playable with some minor annoyances. Thanks for your reply.

re: Win XP ESC Inventory Probs

You're right, changing the resolution does help a bit. What really ticks me off is that sometimes I would pick up an item and the WHOLE screen goes white or grey or whatever color. Now it's impossible to continue because I can't see a thing. So I have no choice but to quicksave, get out of the game and start again.

re: Win XP ESC Inventory Probs

Hey there! I have been really hacked off with the grey/brown/green whatever screens too! At the moment I cant pick up the flower as a bud (shambala) without the screen going brown everytime!! So now I cant move on and give it to the old lady. Really pisses me as I am enjoying the game heaps! Any suggestions? I am using XP too.
I will adjust my screen resolutions as well, but any other ideas will be much appreciated.. I have even tried to navigate by map only...(as you can tell i'm desperate to fix this!!)

This is on the lucasarts site - http://support.lucasarts.com/trg/xp/infernal.htm

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

Not supported for use with the Windows XP Operating System.
NOTE: We have determined through customer input along with LEC testing that the game experiences various incompatibilities which cannot be resolved by means of standard troubleshooting.

I really wish this game worked better on XP because it was a great game!!
