Loungin' Helpdesk

If you have a question to ask and don't mean to start a discussion with it, this is the thread for you. Here are some examples of appropriate questions:
"Hey guys I've been watching porn, how do I delete my internet history?"
"Does anyone know how to convert mp3 to wav? What program do I need?"
"Youtube isn't working for me, it says I don't have Flash installed. What's up with that?"
These are just computer examples but any sort of quick question can be posted here. If you have a detailed computer problem, you may want to head over to the Hardware Forums. If you have a Neoseeker / Site-Related question, it can go in the Site Help forum. However, if you have a quick question under either category, go ahead and post it here.

After you have your question, please don't wait a few hours and then quote the question requesting assistance. At least wait a day and make sure your question is on a previous page before you do any of that. Also, any abuse of this thread will result in an immediate and lengthy ban.
  • Don't post if you are not asking a question or contributing information to one.
  • Don't tell someone that their question is stupid.
  • If you don't know the answer, don't try to be funny and post false information.
If you want, you can repost any unanswered questions from the previous thread in here.

The previous thread can be found here.

re: Loungin' Helpdesk

I am on my laptop and there is this button that says "Insert", and under there is a box with "prt sc" in it. Does this mean "Print Screen", if so, how do I use it? Because whenever I press it, it never works.

Yes, that is the Print Screen button. If you're a laptop user, there should probably be a function button (fn) near the left Control button. Hold this and press the prt sc button. You can then paste the screenshot in Paint or another graphics program.

Well, I tried to change my avatar, but it won't change... It's supposed to be the Half-Life symbol, but it's still the big daddy... I followed the same precedures, I guess it's just taking time to load? I hope...

I did refresh it a few times, but to no avail.

Anyway, it's all good now, so thanks... I guess...

re: Loungin' Helpdesk

Pressing control and F5 doesn't refresh the page, it refreshes the Cache which is the problem why you cannot see your new avatar. It happens to everyone because your caches remembers your old avatar.

What's the difference between Notepad and Wordpad?

Notepad is more of a down-to-the-bones version of Wordpad. Notepad has basic features and fonts, whereas Wordpad is more like Microsoft Word.

re: Loungin' Helpdesk

It still is pretty basic though. It just has the ability to deal with Rich Text documents (*.rtf), whereas Notepad only opens Plain Text files (*.txt).

re: Loungin' Helpdesk

I'm downloading something right now, but it's taking abnormally long. Is there anything to speed up the process?

re: Loungin' Helpdesk

I guess not, sounds like a bad file though. Maybe your firewall is slowing down the process?
